23 points were scored in the first seven minutes, but Arkansas only had one of those as Auburn got off to a huge 22-1 start and never looked back as the Tigers cruised to victory Wednesday night 79-56 over the Razorbacks.
Auburn hit 51.5% of their three-point attempts Wednesday night to get the win and they improve to 18-8 on the season and 7-6 in SEC play. The Tigers were led by Bryce Brown who hit 5 three-pointers and scored 18 points to lead all scorers. Four of Auburn’s starters hit double digit points including Jared Harper, Anfernee McLemore and Chuma Okeke. All five of the starters hit multiple threes, including Malik Dunbar.
Meanwhile, Arkansas only shot 15.4% from beyond the arc with Isaiah Joe leading the way with 14 points despite going 4-14 from three-point range.
It’s a big bounce back win after the Tigers lost their last game at Auburn Arena when Ole Miss came to town 60-55. The Tigers have only lost twice at home this year, that loss to Ole Miss and a two-point loss to Kentucky back on January 19. They get a chance to avenge the Kentucky loss as they travel to Rupp Arena this Saturday. You can hear that game on Jox 94.5 with the broadcast starting at noon CT or watch the game on CBS with tip-off at 12:30 pm. Kentucky has been dominant since their loss to LSU last week. The Wildcats are currently #4 in the AP poll after beating then top-ranked Tennessee by 17 and defeating Missouri on the road Tuesday night.
