Welcome to the ALPreps podcast, right here on Jox Extra. We’ll be talking about the latest news around the state of Alabama as it pertains to high school sports and we’ll preview and recap every championship event that takes place across the state.

About the hosts

Jon Lunceford is a former high school football player from Homewood High School, where he won two state titles with the Patriots. He also played football at Birmingham-Southern College before moving into sports media. Jon has worked with multiple major media outlets in the state and now serves as a high school analyst for Jox 94.5 and with ALPreps. He also works as a producer and director for the NFHS Network across the southeast.

Aaron Daniel is a graduate of Clay-Chalkville High School, and is now a sports broadcaster working for multiple different media outlets. On top of working with ALPreps and Jox 94.5 as a high school expert, he also works with the NFHS Network as a play-by-play broadcaster and producer. Aaron has also worked for Samford Athletics as an in-studio host.

For the inaugural episode of the ALPreps podcast, we break down the results from the AHSAA Indoor Track and Field Championships from the Birmingham Crossplex and highlight some of the outstanding athletes such as Hoover’s Brittley Humphrey and Amaris Tyynismaa from Catholic-Montgomery.
